A great time was had by all at the Secord Lake Association golf scramble at Gladwin Heights Golf Course on September 25, 2021.   This was a fundraiser event with the purpose of raising funds to assist in restoring Secord Lake.  The weather turned out to be beautiful and the "friendly" competition was very close for our top scoring teams, but more importantly, everyone had a great time!

Highlights of the outing included the potential for a Hole-in-One car give-away, which someone came very close to making.  Check out our YouTube video for proof of that one… CLICK HERE TO VIEW.    Dinner was provided after everyone completed their round of golf and it was great to see everyone coming together for our lake community.  We were able to raise funds with raffles for a Fridge-Full-of Beer, a 50/50 drawing, a Gift Card basket, and a Wine/Liquor basket in addition to many other Silent Auction items being available.  Check out more day of event photos HERE.

We are pleased to report that over $18,000 was raised by this event!

We are so grateful to our golfers, sponsors, volunteers, prize donors, committee members, and our lake community and beyond for showing up in a very big way to support this event.  We are looking forward to possibly holding another scramble next year with the hopes that more individuals will assist in planning and working for the success of this worthwhile outing.

Also, we would like to extend a special "Thank You" to John, Jann and their entire crew at Gladwin Heights.  It was an absolute pleasure to work with them on this event. Additional special thanks are going out to the Golf Event Committee for their hard work and dedication…Jeanette Houser, Jenny Combs, Kim Fair, Beth Therrian, Heather Tarpening, Sharon Byler and Cheryl O'Neal and the numerous Day of Event volunteers!

Benefit Concert generated over $7000 for Secord Lake Restoration!

The Secord Lake Association's Fundraising committee hosted a benefit fundraiser for Secord Lake restoration on October 18, 2020. This was a sold-out event attended by lake community residents at Secord Lake Eagles' outdoor pavilion. The afternoon of music featured Nashville singer/song writer, Josh Sanders. Guests were entertained with his perfect blend of country music embedded with a hint of southern rock, blues and folk.

The funds raised in this event will go towards restoration efforts for Secord Lake. Phil Dast, President of SLA stated, "It was a great event, and we can't thank everyone enough for coming together as a community to help benefit our lake restoration."

A special thanks to Josh Sanders for donating his time and talent! Thank you to Secord Lakes Eagles who donated the venue. And a special shout out to organizers Jenny Combs and Jeanette Houser.

Other business sponsors and supporters included:

Lou Ann's Canvas, Nelson's Plumbing, The Camp Sports Bar and Grill, Lakeshore Marina, Secord Lake Marina, Wildwood Party Store, Mike's Marine Repair and Sugar River Storage!
